About The Position

The Worship Leader at First United Methodist Church is responsible for providing God-honoring, Christ-centered worship that inspires and engages the congregation. This role involves leading worship services, coordinating music and media presentations, and developing a communication strategy to foster discipleship among church members. The Worship Leader will work closely with staff, musicians, and volunteers to create meaningful worship experiences and ensure effective communication both internally and externally.

Requirements

• Experience as a musician and/or training in vocal or instrumental music is required.
• Previous experience in music/worship ministry is preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Experience in a variety of worship styles/expressions is beneficial.
• Training or experience with communications software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate worship experiences with staff, musicians, and volunteers.
• Lead the praise band and worship ministry, focusing on community building, music selection, and scheduling of musicians.
• Coordinate recruitment and development of musical talents for worship experiences.
• Manage media presentations for worship, including sound, light, graphic design, and videos.
• Oversee recruitment, scheduling, and training of various church teams such as Communion Team, Welcome Team, and Choirs.
• Prepare the sanctuary and chapel for worship services, funerals, and weddings.
• Implement an assimilation strategy for first-time guests.
• Oversee church communications including social media, print, and video production.
• Maintain consistent branding in all communications.
• Lead a small group and preach as requested by the Senior Pastor.
