About The Position

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you will play a crucial role in an agile team focused on enhancing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. Your responsibilities will include developing innovative software solutions, conducting technical troubleshooting, and ensuring operational stability across various business functions to support the firm's objectives.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Strong understanding in coding in Spark, Python, AWS Cloud and React.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Middleware.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and working experience in relational and dimensional modeling is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in development of dashboards, reports in BI tools - Tableau, Qlik Sense and Cognos on on-prem, cloud data lakes (Databricks, Big Data).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge with coding in Java is a huge plus.
  • Exposure to Databricks AWS.
  • Knowledge on API/Microservices.

Responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
