About the position

The Special Education Teacher for Mild/Moderate disabilities will be responsible for providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This position requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by students with mild to moderate disabilities and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet their individual learning styles. The teacher will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote academic and social success. In this role, the teacher will create lesson plans that are engaging and accessible, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and resources. The teacher will also assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed to ensure that all students are making meaningful gains. Collaboration with other staff members, including general education teachers, specialists, and support staff, is essential to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students. Additionally, the Special Education Teacher will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of student performance and progress, communicating effectively with parents and guardians, and participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education. This position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Responsibilities
