About the position

The Special Education Middle School Teacher for Autism and Multiple Disabilities at Franklin Middle School is responsible for providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements, ensuring that they receive the appropriate accommodations and modifications to succeed academically and socially. The teacher will collaborate with other educators, specialists, and families to create a cohesive support system that fosters student growth and development. In this position, the teacher will utilize various instructional strategies and resources to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. This includes adapting lesson plans to meet the varying abilities of students, employing assistive technology, and promoting positive behavior interventions. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification.
  • Valid Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSWD) certification.
  • Elementary K-6 certification.
  • Experience working with students with autism and multiple disabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a middle school setting.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology for special education.
