About the position

The El Monte Union High School District (EMUHSD) is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. This position is focused on providing educational support to students with mild to moderate disabilities, particularly those with Autism, in grades 9 through 12. The ideal candidate will possess a credential authorizing them to teach special education and will be equipped with the skills necessary to assist students in both academic and personal care needs. The role requires a deep understanding of current teaching methodologies and the ability to monitor and address the physical, emotional, and educational needs of students throughout the school day. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth for all students. You will collaborate with other educators, parents, and community organizations to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed. The position also involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs and working closely with support staff to implement these plans effectively. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Knowledge of current teaching methods and techniques.
  • Ability to monitor students' physical, emotional, and educational needs during school hours.
