About the position

The Special Education Teacher position at Keene High School/North Campus is a full-time role dedicated to providing educational support to students with special needs. The teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. This includes adapting lesson plans, teaching strategies, and classroom environments to ensure that all students can access the curriculum effectively. The teacher will work closely with other educators, parents, and support staff to create a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. Additionally, the role involves monitoring student progress, conducting assessments, and maintaining accurate records of student performance and behavior. The teacher will also participate in professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and stay updated on best practices in special education. The position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere where students feel safe and encouraged to learn. The teacher will be expected to address emotional and behavioral challenges, utilizing strategies that promote social-emotional learning and resilience among students. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must hold or be eligible for New Hampshire teacher certification, endorsement 1900.
  • Bachelor's degree in General Special Education is required.
  • Master's Degree and/or advanced endorsement is preferred.
  • Experience with emotional and behavioral disabilities is preferred.
  • Successful completion of NH criminal background check and pre-employment physical is required.
