About the position

The Special Education Teacher for Inclusion (History) at Atlantic City High School is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities in grades 9-12. This role involves implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) effectively, maintaining a positive learning environment, and utilizing effective teaching methods tailored to the needs of students with disabilities. The teacher will work collaboratively with other educators to ensure that all students have access to a quality education.

Responsibilities

• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Utilize effective teaching methods tailored to the needs of students with disabilities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
• Collaborate with other educators to support student learning and inclusion.

Requirements

• Holder of a Certificate of Eligibility instructional certificate.
• Completion of the 50-hour pre-professional experience as required by the NJ Department of Education.
• Demonstrated ability to implement an IEP effectively.
• Knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in English.
