The Special Education Teacher at Stride, Inc. is a state-certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment tailored to meet the needs of students with special needs. This role requires the teacher to provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process and focusing on the individual needs of each student as defined by their Individualized Education Program (IEP). The teacher will actively engage with students and their parents to enhance the learning experience and ensure compliance with all necessary documentation required for serving students with special needs. The Special Education Teacher will be part of the Carolus Online Academy (COA), which aims to deliver an exemplary individualized educational experience through strong community and family partnerships, a rigorous curriculum, and a data-driven instructional model. In this full-time position, the Special Education Teacher is expected to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week, maintaining a professional home office environment free from distractions during standard working hours. Essential functions include ensuring that all special education services are provided as determined by the IEP team, communicating with parents and related service staff, developing compliant IEPs and progress reports, facilitating special education meetings, and using provided resources to accommodate students with disabilities. The teacher will also collect data to monitor student progress, document all interactions with parents and students, and provide engaging learning experiences in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. A commitment to personalizing learning for all students and maintaining positive rapport with families is crucial for success in this role.
