About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our sites in Emeryville, California. This full-time position involves working with students across various age groups, focusing on developing and implementing educational plans tailored to individual student needs. The ideal candidate will possess a current license to practice and be comfortable working with students with mild to moderate disabilities. The role requires the development of lessons that not only enhance student learning but also promote independent learning skills. Teachers will be responsible for following the prescribed curriculum while supplementing and adapting lessons to ensure they are meaningful and engaging for students. Additionally, participation in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) is a key responsibility, along with timely completion of all required documentation. The position is structured as a full-time role, requiring the Resource Specialist to work five days a week. The caseload will primarily consist of students with mild to moderate disabilities. The start date for this position is immediate, and it is expected to continue until the end of the school year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and program needs. Responsibilities

  • Develop lessons that enhance student learning and promote independent learning skills.
  • Implement educational plans that address individual student needs.
  • Follow the prescribed curriculum and adapt lessons to make them meaningful for students.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Current Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree preferred.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public school or charter school setting preferred.
