About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work or related fields, with experience in managing care facilities such as retirement homes, group homes, or memory care environments. This role requires a proactive approach to facility management, focusing on enhancing the quality of life for residents through effective care plans and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities, coordinating with contractors and service providers to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to the needs of residents in long-term care settings.
  • Foster a positive community atmosphere by organizing events and activities that promote resident engagement.
  • Collaborate with social workers and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support for residents.
  • Monitor facility budgets and resource allocation to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify areas for improvement or necessary repairs.
  • Train and supervise staff members, promoting best practices in care management and facility operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably within home care, retirement homes, or group home settings.
  • Strong understanding of social work principles as they relate to facility operations and resident care.
  • Familiarity with memory care practices and long-term care regulations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with residents, families, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each resident within the community.
