About the position
The Specifications Writer at ADCI plays a crucial role in preparing and delivering project specifications for various architectural and interior design projects. This position involves collaborating with the Senior Specification Writer to enhance master specifications and ensure innovative solutions meet client needs, particularly through the integration of Revit. The role requires a strong understanding of architectural design, construction methodologies, and material applications, making it essential for the successful execution of projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare project specifications including general conditions.
- Enhance and maintain master specifications.
- Determine innovative ways to meet client needs through construction specification delivery.
- Interpret architectural and interior design plans and prepare material lists and specifications.
- Modify or write architectural specifications and compile specifications documents.
- Coordinate with and assist other staff in determining appropriate specifications for specific projects.
- Maintain master specification, materials, and product information files.
- Participate in the education and training of staff on new products, materials, systems, and specification developments.
- Maintain awareness of market products and develop the firm library of catalogs for designers and architects.
Requirements
- Degree in architecture, engineering, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of ten years' experience in building construction settings, including architecture firms, construction management, or specification consulting firms.
- Minimum of three years' experience as an architectural specifications writer.
- Public bid coordination experience preferred.
- CSI certification preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Revit software.
- Strong knowledge of architectural design and engineering coordination.
- Familiarity with design trends and construction methodologies.
