About The Position

Noblis is seeking a technical intern for the 2025 Spring Internship Program, specifically within the Simulation and Visualization Research Center. This internship offers the opportunity to collaborate with a team of experienced software developers, utilizing Python to simulate multi-agent systems and contribute to research efforts. The position is remote and may extend until the end of summer 2025.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.3.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with an emphasis on self-initiation and follow-through.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Software development experience, particularly in Python programming.
• Familiarity with version control software and Agile development environments.
• Experience with virtual environments and pip.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in programming visuals, such as graphs or games.
• Experience using JavaScript for creating dynamic browser-based analytic visuals.
• Experience working in a Unix environment (e.g., bash, zsh).
• Experience with multi-threaded programs.
• Experience with geospatial software (e.g., CesiumJS, Google Earth).
• Knowledge or research experience in multi-agent systems, combinatorial optimization, or simulation.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small research team to simulate multi-agent systems using Python-based systems.
• Run experiments with simulators and assist in preparing research papers on the results.
• Implement complex algorithms and extend existing Python code.
• Utilize core scientific Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy.
