The position requires a strong understanding of electric vehicle (EV) battery packs and drive trains, along with a solid foundation in electrical and electronic components. The role involves inspecting these components, analyzing concerns, and effectively communicating with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE). A thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and first principle inspection techniques is essential, including familiarity with engineering metrology standards, limits, fits, tolerances, and various measurement systems such as CMM and surface finish measurement systems. The candidate will closely collaborate with Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) and SQE teams to address supplier non-conformances, ensuring that action plans are developed and monitored for effectiveness using the 8D/SCAP format. Additionally, the role includes inspecting critical components for dimensional and metallurgical integrity and monitoring vendor rejection rates while implementing sampling inspection techniques using statistical tools.
