About the position

The Senior Accounts Payable Administrator at Quaker Houghton plays a crucial role in the Finance Department, focusing on complex accounting duties within the Accounts Payable sector. This position supports both US and Canadian Business Units, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of vendor invoices while adhering to company policies and controls. The role involves utilizing cloud-based AP automation systems and ERP software to manage high volumes of transactions, resolve invoice-related issues, and support fraud prevention efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Process high volume of vendor invoices using AP Automation Cloud based system and ERP JDE.
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with invoice processing to ensure timely payments.
  • Respond to external and internal inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
  • Perform verbal vendor banking verifications to support fraud prevention.
  • Create and reconcile weekly vendor payment batches, including intercompany payments.
  • Monitor Unvouchered Receipts over 60 days past due and arrange for clearing.
  • Act as system administrator for SAP Concur Expense and Travel interface.
  • Prepare and submit 1099 files yearly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts payable.
  • BA/BS in Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience with JDE or comparable accounting systems preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AP Automation Systems preferred.
