The Johns Hopkins University Department of Genetic Medicine is seeking a Sr. Administrative Manager who will work under the direction of the Department Administrator and Department Chair. This position is responsible for the fiscal, administrative, and operational management of the department, with a significant emphasis on financial modeling, financial analysis, and financial planning. The role includes strategic planning, development and management of budgets, grants, and oversight of clinical practice billing. The Sr. Administrative Manager will manage daily and monthly personnel management, support service centers, and other programs and projects, while also supporting the research endeavors of the department. This position will manage financial activities involving general funds, grants, contracts, and gift accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant university and agency regulations. The Sr. Administrative Manager will oversee the development and management of budgets for grants, contracts, and general funds, and will be responsible for overall department financial planning and cost analysis. This includes performing comprehensive analysis and projections relating to business or industry trends, analyzing financial data to ensure efficient use of resources, and directly supervising both exempt and non-exempt levels of financial and administrative staff. As part of the department's executive team, this role shares significant responsibility for the highest level of fiscal and administrative management of the department. The manager will coordinate all sponsored project activities for the department and serve as the primary internal and external contact for all activity involving research grants and contracts. In addition, the Sr. Administrative Manager will ensure that financial and administrative policies, processes, and controls are properly designed, implemented, and adhered to, while also supporting strategic engagement with the broader Johns Hopkins University community. The position requires interaction with faculty and administration within the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, as well as with local and other organizations, making it essential for the candidate to possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
