About the position

The Sr. Analyst, Business Intelligence - Sales Enablement & Analytics role at Comcast is a pivotal position within the West Division Channel Effectiveness & Analytics Team. This team leverages advanced tools and technologies to enhance the execution of business strategies by providing insightful analysis, reporting, and insights tailored for the sales and operations teams. The successful candidate will engage in cross-functional collaboration to extract and analyze data, design processes and tools, set sales goals, and report results using diverse data sources. This role requires the development of conceptual data models through various methodologies, including statistical analysis, forecasting, and machine learning, all aimed at supporting sales budgets, forecasts, and optimizing sales channels. In this role, you will partner with Corporate, Division, and Region sales teams to manage and develop operational and performance management reporting. You will be responsible for performing business intelligence analysis, extracting meaningful insights from raw data, and integrating this information with other data sources. This includes writing complex SQL queries to prepare data for analysis and reporting, utilizing big data platforms such as Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop, and AWS. You will lead the analysis and reconciliation of data for various metrics, including sales productivity, quality, and customer experience, while identifying key business drivers through exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing. Additionally, you will create Tableau visualizations and interactive reports, effectively communicating your findings to all levels of management. The role also involves developing forecasting models to predict sales and demand, promoting a culture of data-driven discussions, and staying current with emerging trends in analytics and machine learning. The position requires a consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion, along with regular attendance and the ability to work variable schedules as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Corporate, Division, and Region sales teams to manage and develop operational and performance management reporting.
  • Perform business intelligence analysis and data exploitation, extracting meaningful insights from raw data and integrating it with other data sources.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, assemble, and prepare data for analysis and reporting using big data platforms such as Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop, and AWS.
  • Lead the analysis and reconciliation of data and reporting for sales, productivity, quality, benchmarking, strategic initiatives, incentives, and customer experience metrics.
  • Identify key business drivers and insights by conducting exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing.
  • Develop, maintain, and report all relevant product, site, and customer metrics, applying findings to develop appropriate goals and projections.
  • Recommend improvements to strategic initiatives and interpret data for sales, business development, product, and executive committees.
  • Create Tableau visualizations and interactive solution-focused reporting.
  • Effectively communicate analysis processes and findings via oral, written, and visualization to all levels of management including VP's.
  • Develop forecasting models to predict sales, demand, and other key business metrics.
  • Promote and evangelize a culture of excellence, data-driven discussions, healthy skepticism, intellectual curiosity, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in analytics, statistics, and machine learning and apply them to business challenges.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in business intelligence or analytics.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and advanced lookup functions.
  • Strong SQL and Tableau proficiency.
  • Ability to manage data across multiple database systems (Teradata, Presto) and develop automated analytical datasets as required.
  • Ability to translate large datasets into visualizations that tell a story using Tableau.
  • Exposure to statistical analysis techniques and deploying statistical models.
  • Ability to communicate analytical/data insights to sales leaders.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge in ETL and other statistical or analytical tools (Alteryx, Cognos, R, Python) is a bonus.
  • Effective time management and critical thinking skills with a problem-solving mindset.
