About the position

The Senior Analyst Business Intelligence plays a crucial role within the Strategy Division of Cape Cod Healthcare, focusing on informing strategic, business development, and operational decision-making. This position is responsible for developing and utilizing complex business analytical models, performing key analyses, and creating reports and visual presentations that effectively illustrate trends and forecast opportunities. The analyst prepares analyses and reports that demonstrate the performance of Cape Cod Healthcare's programs and services, analyzing trends from various statistical, demographic, and billing systems. In addition to preparing reports, the Senior Analyst assists CCHC leadership with strategic planning and business development initiatives by developing market assessments, forecasts, and capacity analyses. This role supports service line development and collaborates with the strategy team in business planning and the creation of pro formas for expansion or new initiatives. The analyst utilizes knowledge of McKesson business intelligence systems, the hospitals' financial system, and external databases to provide essential information for strategic projects and ad hoc data requests. The position requires building strong, collaborative relationships within the division and with other departments such as Finance, Operations, Managed Care, and Marketing Communications. The Senior Analyst will jointly develop dashboards, ensure the accuracy of analyses, and promote data understanding across teams. Participation with the IT team in the development of business intelligence and decision support systems is also a key responsibility, including interfacing with IT regarding data warehousing, upgrade testing, and recurring reporting requirements. The analyst will research and resolve data issues as needed, integrating multiple technologies and datasets to solve business problems and optimize data delivery. Furthermore, the Senior Analyst is responsible for creating new operational reports and adapting existing McKesson reports to meet the changing needs of the organization. Once established, the analyst will review daily reports generated by the BI Analyst and coordinate with the Business Intelligence team to meet organizational goals while adhering to timelines and professional standards. Responsibilities

  • Prepares analyses and creates reports demonstrating the performance of Cape Cod Healthcare's programs and services.
  • Analyzes trends evident in data from multiple statistical, demographic, and billing systems.
  • Assists CCHC leadership with strategic planning and business development initiatives by developing market assessments, forecasts, and capacity analyses.
  • Builds and performs analyses supporting service line development and business planning.
  • Utilizes knowledge of McKesson business intelligence systems and external databases for strategic projects and ad hoc data requests.
  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships within the division and with other departments.
  • Participates with IT in the development of business intelligence and decision support systems.
  • Researches and resolves data issues as needed.
  • Integrates multiple technologies and datasets to solve business problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Administration, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Three to five years' experience in business analysis and/or a decision support role.
  • Advanced analytic skills with knowledge and experience in revenue and utilization modeling, data warehousing, and business intelligence systems.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with relational databases and data analytics software.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and apply initiative and creativity on challenging projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to change and exposure to Senior Management.
  • Ability to quickly absorb new ideas and concepts and effectively prioritize multiple project demands.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a project team and communicate well with peers and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated competence in SQL.
  • Knowledge of industry standard coding such as ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, CPT, HCPCS, and revenue codes.
  • Experience with Microsoft or other reporting platforms.
