About the position

The Senior Analyst, Credit Analytics position at OneMain Financial involves optimizing credit risk underwriting and pricing strategies to enhance business results. The role focuses on various aspects of credit strategy, including approval processes, loan assignments, and risk management, aimed at driving revenue growth and improving profitability. The analyst will work collaboratively with different teams to implement and validate strategies, conduct analyses, and present insights to management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, recommend, document, and execute consumer credit underwriting and pricing strategies.
  • Extract and analyze historical customer performance data from multiple systems.
  • Utilize data query tools (R, SAS, SQL, MATLAB, Python) for strategy development and testing.
  • Leverage regression models and machine learning algorithms to understand customer behavior.
  • Develop strategy optimization frameworks with a full credit-cycle view.
  • Implement Quality Control processes to ensure data accuracy.
  • Enhance existing processes and reporting through automation and insights.
  • Summarize and present results and insights to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline (Graduate Preferred) such as Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business Management, or Computer Science.
  • Strong SQL, SAS, and Excel skills; experience with relational databases and BI tools is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in a data-driven problem-solving environment; Master's or PhD may offset experience.
  • Innovative with a highly analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in the lending or consumer finance industry is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional programming languages.
  • Familiarity with decision tree analytical software.
