The role of a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst at Taco Bell is pivotal in providing global data management and analytics platforms and services across all lines of business. As a key member of the Technology team, the Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst will play an essential role in the exciting transition Taco Bell is making towards digitizing its business operations. This position involves managing highly strategic initiatives that enable innovative technology and digital experiences for both consumers and team members. The analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced data visualizations and reporting using Power BI, as well as implementing solutions for complex data issues. The analyst will also create optimized data models and relationships to facilitate advanced data visualization based on business requirements, and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver insights-driven data products. This role is crucial for supporting Taco Bell's mission to challenge the status quo and push industry boundaries, ensuring that the brand remains a leader in the QSR space.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced data visualizations, reporting, and storytelling using the Power BI reporting tool.
  • Implement solutions for data problems, providing guidance on complex data issues.
  • Design and create optimized physical/logical data models and relationships required for advanced data visualization creation based on business requirements.
  • Create and maintain enhanced SQL queries for report data validation and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver insights-driven data products leveraging various data sources.
  • Participate in business/technical requirements discussions and facilitate demos with finance, marketing, and operational stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Statistics, Math, or a related field; or equivalent years of experience.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a business intelligence data analyst role.
  • 5+ years of solid hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining data visualizations using BI analytical tools, specifically Power BI.
  • 5+ years of ETL and Data Engineering experience, including analyzing and bug fixing in ETL pipelines.
  • 5+ years of cloud experience is a must.
  • Serve as the lead analyst working with the Development data teams to optimize data pipelines and common data models.
  • Build ad-hoc SQL queries, pipelines, and notebooks as needed to support projects and complex business analysis.
  • Implement procedures and standards around data reliability, accuracy, and availability.
  • Implement DataOps best practices for versioning, testing, and production support.
  • Ability to work with large data sets and optimize performance of analytical solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree and Power BI certification is a plus.
  • Strong Python skills for data analysis and data engineering.
  • Experience with semi-structured data (JSON/XML, AVRO).
  • Experience with CI/CD for Analysts (Gitlab/Github, Terraform, CDK, etc.).
  • Experience working with MS Fabric.
