The Senior Chemical Engineer at Honeywell will provide advanced engineering expertise to support and execute highly technical and advanced manufacturing processes. This role requires specialized chemical and materials engineering qualifications, knowledge, and skills. The engineer will perform technical project management and engineering design, development, evaluation, and quality assurance functions for complex engineering projects and products, particularly in the realm of national security applications. The position involves applying mathematical, physical science, and advanced engineering technologies to achieve engineering delivery objectives. The engineer will have considerable latitude in determining and defining the technical objectives of assignments and responsibilities, and will be recognized as an authority within their area of expertise, showcasing a wide versatility of experience and capability. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for project planning and managing project resources, which includes coordinating multiple individuals and disciplines to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives. They will conduct research and development experiments to resolve complex engineering and quality problems using advanced scientific methods. The engineer will also write technical reports detailing the results and conclusions from experiments, incorporating findings into formal specifications. Estimating set-up times, flow-times, production costs, and preparing reports and recommendations for management are also key responsibilities. The engineer will participate in establishing operating procedures for new products and components, define and recommend new designs, and order necessary tooling and equipment to ensure product quality. Additionally, the engineer will plan and perform engineering testing and development programs, utilizing advanced statistical and scientific methods to address critical engineering and production problems. They will originate, refine, and release complex manufacturing or inspection work directions, determine the acceptability of processes and materials, and interact with design agencies and suppliers to resolve design and production issues. The engineer will also provide technical consultation to management, lead technical project teams, and mentor junior engineers. Safety is paramount, and the engineer will conduct activities in a safe manner, adhering to established health, safety, and environmental requirements, and will have the authority to stop work when unsafe conditions are identified.
