About the position

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will build data expertise and own data quality for the pipelines built. You will architect, build, and launch new data models and data marts that provide intuitive analytics to customers. Your role will involve designing, building, and launching efficient and reliable data pipelines to move data (both large and small amounts) into and out of the Data Warehouse. Additionally, you will design and develop new systems and tools to enable the company to consume and understand data faster. You will use coding skills across a number of languages including Python and Java, and support the company's analytics needs through reports, analyses, and insights driven by data. You will also integrate third-party data to enrich the company's data environment and enable new analytic perspectives. This position requires working across multiple teams in high visibility roles and owning solutions end-to-end, collaborating with program managers, business partners, and other engineers to develop and prioritize project plans.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1 year of progressive experience with implementing data business solutions at production scale.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3 years of progressive experience.
  • Experience in software development with Java or Python.
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Experience in building, maintaining, and automating ETL jobs.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins and AWS tools.
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, EMR, EC2/ECS, Athena, CF, Jenkins, Code pipeline, or Code build.
  • Experience with Cloud Data Warehouses including Amazon Redshift.
  • Experience with Hadoop and Spark, including data manipulation with Hive, Python, or Java.
  • Knowledge of AWS streaming technologies and concepts.
  • Experience with automation and orchestration platforms including Airflow.
