Sr Database Administrator

About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Support Database Administrator (DBA) with over seven years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in MS-SQL Server and will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and migration of MS-SQL database platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of MSSQL internals and the ability to troubleshoot real-time production issues effectively. The DBA will also refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes to ensure smooth database operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide deployment support for database objects in production and test environments.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
• Execute large database migration projects independently.
• Provide 24x7 production on-call support on a rotation basis.
• Perform database performance tuning, including query optimization and server tuning.
• Maintain and develop complex PowerShell scripts for database maintenance.
• Monitor standard database performance and health.

Requirements

• More than seven years of experience as a production support database administrator (DBA).
• Strong database administration experience on MS-SQL Server.
• Experience in installation, configuration, and migration with MS-SQL database platforms.
• Strong database performance tuning skills.
• Deep understanding of MSSQL internals and Optimizer functioning.
• Experience with standard database monitoring.
• Effective verbal and writing communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in migrating SQL platforms to industry standard versions.
• Experience with other database platforms such as Sybase or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with No-SQL databases like MongoDB.
• Experience in Powershell automation.
