About the position

The Senior Employee Relations Specialist at Syneos Health plays a crucial role in managing employee relations inquiries and issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws. This position involves consulting with managers, leading investigations, and providing guidance on workplace matters to foster a positive work environment. The specialist is responsible for maintaining knowledge of employment laws and collaborating with various stakeholders to resolve cases effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Manages requests or inquiries from customers following defined procedures and guidelines, conducting reviews and investigations to resolve cases.
  • Consults with and advises managers on workplace issues, recommending appropriate personnel actions in accordance with company policies and laws.
  • Assists managers in preparing corrective action documents and performance improvement plans, and preparing for employee conversations.
  • Leads investigations and collects pertinent facts needed to resolve cases, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Maintains current knowledge in the field of Employee Relations and shares insights with others.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members to execute tasks and fulfill key deliverables.
  • Takes ownership of assigned tasks and ensures they are resolved efficiently and with high quality.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and team members, cultivating trust and encouraging effective use of HR services.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies and compliance with applicable laws, promoting a discrimination-free workplace.
  • Performs activities in compliance with Corporate and Divisional Policies and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with experience in HR concentration and Employee Relations.
  • Preferred PHR or SPHR Certification.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment (EEO) and labor laws.
  • Experience in employee relations, providing guidance to management, and addressing team member issues.
  • Experience providing employee relations support virtually to team members in multiple locations.
  • Experience in a customer service environment.
  • Ability to diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex issues, recommending effective solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for various audiences.
  • Time management skills for prioritizing and tracking multiple projects.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues and drive improvements.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
