About the position

The Senior Manager, Supplier Engineering at Insulet plays a crucial role in the Supplier Engineering group, which is part of the Global Procurement and Supplier Development organization. This position involves leading a team to execute sourcing strategies, improve component quality and cost, and manage the qualification of tooling manufacturing processes at third-party sites. The role is focused on ensuring that Insulet meets its growth objectives by optimizing supplier manufacturing processes and developing a skilled team to manage a global component supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the team for the validation and qualification of purchased components and assemblies through the USAM assembly process.
  • Drives component improvements to minimize variation to support operational objectives for OEE and scrap goals.
  • Applies engineering principles to perform root cause analysis to resolve and implement corrections to component-related issues.
  • Builds the capability of others to assure successful project execution, including improving business process systems and providing effective coaching and feedback.
  • Advises team of supplier engineers and quality engineers as they investigate and improve supplier processes and introduce new components to suppliers.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities to enhance the cost, quality, and delivery of purchased components.
  • Allocates resources, assigns priorities to tasks, and acts as an advisor to senior management in delivering value-added services for Engineering.
  • Develops robust and sustainable systems to track improvements across the components.
  • Oversees change control associated with modifications to components.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years' work experience in a regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years leading and managing an engineering staff.

  • Six Sigma Process Improvement Experience/Certification preferred.
