About the position

The Sr. ETL Developer position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities centered around the analysis, design, development, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex data warehouse application solutions. The role requires gathering and interpreting functional specifications and user requirements to provide effective technical solutions. The developer will be responsible for creating functional requirements and technical design documentation, coordinating the development of data marts and data warehouses, and performing application data integration development. This includes implementing metadata processes and frameworks, business rules, and creating stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers. The position also entails developing ETL mappings, scheduling ETL workflows and complex jobs, and creating SQL queries. The developer will be tasked with creating data mappings and packages to load data from various sources to destinations, executing performance tuning, and SQL query tuning. Additionally, the role requires the creation of Hive tables, performing unit and integration testing, troubleshooting scripts, fixing bugs, and preparing implementation plans along with supporting documents. The developer will also address production issues, document solutions, prepare user documentation, track change requests, and mentor or assist lower-level team members. The tools and technologies utilized in this role include UNIX, AIX, Windows, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Erwin, Hadoop, DataStage, Hyperion, Business Objects, Hive, Pig, MapReduce, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, C, C++, TOAD, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, implement, and troubleshoot complex data warehouse application solutions.
• Gather and interpret functional specifications and user requirements to provide technical solutions.
• Develop functional requirements and technical design documentation.
• Coordinate the development of the data mart and data warehouse.
• Perform application data integration development and implement metadata processes and frameworks.
• Implement business rules and create stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers.
• Develop ETL mappings and schedule ETL workflows and complex jobs.
• Create SQL queries and data mappings to load data from various sources to destinations.
• Execute performance tuning and SQL query tuning.
• Create Hive tables and perform unit and integration testing.
• Troubleshoot scripts, fix bugs, and address production issues.
• Prepare implementation plans and create supporting documents.
• Document solutions and prepare user documentation.
• Track change requests and mentor/assist lower-level team members.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (equivalent foreign degree accepted).
• Two years of experience as a Software Developer, Systems Analyst, Programmer, or in a related occupation.
• Experience must include two years of work with Oracle, Teradata, DataStage, Hyperion, and Business Objects.
• Willingness to relocate.
