About the position

Supermicro is seeking a dynamic Senior Field Application Engineer (FAE) with experience in selling high-performance computing (HPC) and data center solutions. As a key technical advisor, you will engage with Fortune 1000 customers, helping them design, deploy, and optimize advanced IT infrastructure. You will play a critical role in driving business growth by providing expert technical guidance, ensuring seamless solution integration, and fostering long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers, from engineers to C-level executives.
• Design and architect cutting-edge HPC and data center solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Collaborating closely with sales and extended teams to map end-user requirements to optimal technical solutions.
• Driving pre-sales technical discussions, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and solution demonstrations.
• Providing hands-on technical leadership during system integration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnosing complex system architecture challenges, including hardware/software interactions and performance optimizations.
• Managing product hardware and software engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and customer satisfaction.
• Developing and delivering compelling technical presentations and bid responses.
• Ensuring a seamless customer experience through proactive engagement and problem resolution.
• Traveling up to 25% for on-site customer visits, solution integration, and technical support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in compute/storage server, data center, or IT infrastructure solutions.
• Deep understanding of x86-based server architectures, including CPU, GPU, and accelerator technologies.
• Solid background in system design, debugging, and diagnostics.
• Proficiency in firmware, drivers, OS (Linux, Windows), and virtualization platforms.
• Knowledge of networking, storage, and cloud computing is a plus.
