About the position

The Sr. Hardware Development Engineer position at Amazon Web Services (AWS) involves leading the design and development of server platforms, focusing on mechanical and thermal systems. The engineer will work within a fast-paced team environment, applying innovative cooling and mechanical technologies to large-scale deployments, and will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and conducting technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems
• Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives
• Participate in the cross-discipline design process working with other HW and SW team members to develop optimized integrated solutions
• Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems
• Manage interaction with overseas resources
• Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, or equivalent
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Experience with the project management of technical projects
