About the position
Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center is set to open in early 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in over 20 years. This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, including The George Washington University Hospital and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, establishing a robust system of care for all District residents. The facility will feature 136 beds (expandable to 184), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery services, an ambulatory pavilion, a community space, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transports. We are seeking a Sr. HIM Tech (Full Time) to work under the direction of the Director/Operations Manager of Health Information Management, serving as the primary resource for the Electronic Medical Record system. Responsibilities include monitoring the system, troubleshooting issues, providing customer support, building and supporting workflow, and participating in user training.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Troubleshoot issues related to the system.
- Provide customer support to ensure user satisfaction.
- Build and support workflow processes.
- Participate in user training.
- Understand the integration of all systems affecting departmental operations.
Requirements
- Associates degree or 3 years experience in an HIM department or health care facility.
- 2 years of medical record analysis experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Typing skill of 35-40 wpm is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated usage of spreadsheets, databases, and word-processing.
