Sr. IT Program Manager

About the position

As an IT Sr Program Manager at Abbott, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and implementing very complex IT programs for IS Hosting to meet organizational goals. You will develop, execute, and manage IS Hosting programs, projects, and portfolio within the defined scope. This role involves managing a portfolio of multiple applications, ensuring compliance with corporate and divisional policies, and communicating with strategic business and executive IT management to establish project goals and executive reporting. You will also assess changes to scope, issues, and risks, ensuring project performance aligns with the original plan and budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage Infrastructure Services (IS) Hosting Portfolio of projects, applications, and products to ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
• Oversee a portfolio of multiple applications including CMDB, reporting, and compliance.
• Communicate and work with Strategic Business and Executive IT management to establish strategic direction, project goals, business cases, and executive reporting.
• Assess the impact of changes to scope, issues, and risks on projects and work with management to resolve them.
• Measure performance to ensure projects are progressing as planned and within budget.
• Lead project managers and teams in developing and executing program plans, ensuring authorized resources are obtained.
• Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsors and stakeholders.
• Produce project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to management.
• Coordinate resources to ensure program and business needs are addressed through proactive priority management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience with a minimum of 9 years managing IT projects focused on Infrastructure.
• Infrastructure background preferably in Networking, WAN, LAN, etc.
• Strong experience or understanding of Hyper converge/Storage (SAN) - Windows/Unix/Linux, etc.
• Experience with various servers (Dell/COHESITY/Pure), backups, data centers, and tools like Big Panda/Ansible/Logic Monitor.

• Agile development mindset with some experience in Cloud (Azure) technology.
• ServiceNow/CMDB knowledge.
