About the position

The position of Sr. Linux Systems Administrator at Lockheed Martin involves managing and supporting IT systems in a collaborative, agile environment. The role requires relocation to Guam for 6-12 months and includes a month of training in either King of Prussia, PA or Littleton, CO. The candidate will be responsible for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various IT systems, with a focus on Linux system administration and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various IT systems in an agile scrum environment.
• Manage day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices.
• Patch and harden Linux RedHat OS and collaborate with security personnel to protect against cyber threats.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with 5 years of professional experience, or 3 years with a Master's degree, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced professional experience with Linux system administration.
• Experience in software practices and configuration management.
• Scripting experience.

Nice-to-haves

• RedHat OS patching/hardening experience.
• Experience with RedHat OpenShift and AWX.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, team environment.
• Agile development experience.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification.
