We are seeking a junior employment lawyer to join our dynamic team to handle escalated employee relations, legal and compliance issues for Corporate and Cable headquarters business units. Responsibilities include legal research, handling complex leave and accommodation requests, providing input on managing unique performance and conduct issues, developing employee-facing policies and processes, conducting training for HR, and representing the voice of the Employee Relations team on various projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as POC for ER, legal and compliance issues for various Corporate and Cable Headquarters business units.
  • Acts as escalation point for fair employment practices concerns raised through Comcast's Open Door and Comcast Listens reporting channels.
  • Partners with the Absence Management team to evaluate escalated leave and accommodation requests and recommend appropriate action.
  • Primary point of contact for legal research requests from the Employee Relations team.
  • Identifies and implements HR policy and process improvements.
  • Conducts training for HR on employment law matters.
  • Works on various projects implicating employee relations concerns.
  • Provides guidance and advice to Human Resources on employee issues where the company interests are at risk.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • JD from accredited law school
  • 2+ years experience practicing employment law, including advising multistate employers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organization
