Our Engineering Program Managers partner with engineers who build secure, end-to-end solutions. Thanks to Apple's unique integration of hardware, software, and services, engineers and Program Managers work together to build a single unified vision. Apple is seeking an experienced manager to lead a team of Engineering Program Managers focused on building Apple's Data Platform. The Apple Data Platform powers analytics and ML engineering for Siri, Search, and other ML features we all love in our Apple products. The mission of the Data Platform org is to provide our ML engineers and data users a secured, reliable, and easy-to-use infrastructure for ingesting, storing, processing, and interacting with data and ultimately enable teams across Apple on building their data-intensive AI/ML applications. Our solutions must scale globally, be highly available, performant, and simply 'just work'.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Engineering Program Managers focused on building Apple's Data Platform.
• Develop and execute strategic decisions while maintaining a broad organizational perspective.
• Facilitate process improvement and standard operating procedures to achieve required maturity and effectiveness.
• Build and manage relationships with diverse engineering teams across Apple.
• Ensure collective success by maintaining and improving Apple's critical cloud services.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing Engineering Program Managers and leading highly efficient and impactful teams.
• 10+ years proven experience in software development program management for cloud infrastructure platforms and technologies.
• Technical proficiency with ML infrastructure, frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, Jupyter notebooks, Spark, Trino, Flink, SQL, Python, and other advanced analytical tools.
• A history of leadership, decision making, negotiation skills, and ability to influence partners without direct authority.
• Proven track record in delivering programs and driving new strategic initiatives across an organization.
• High-level of technical competency and experience collaborating directly with highly technical teams.
• Able to interact with large developer communities and large internal customer teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong relationship management and facilitation skills within diverse engineering teams and cross-functional organizations.
• Outstanding presentation skills, both written and oral.
