About the position

At Palo Alto Networks, we are seeking an experienced Leader to join our GlobalProtect team, which is responsible for securing network traffic from customer devices to Prisma Access™ Cloud. This role involves leading the design, development, and delivery of next-generation technologies. We are looking for passionate leaders who are hands-on, love to build great products, and bring new ideas in all facets of software development. The ideal candidate will take coaching and mentoring to heart, inspiring their organization to scale both horizontally and vertically. Collaboration and teamwork are foundational to our culture, and we need leaders who can communicate effectively and work well with others to achieve common goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the innovation, development, and sustenance of the GlobalProtect client product on multiple platforms.
  • Work with product management to develop and define roadmaps.
  • Review and critique system architectures and low-level designs.
  • Collaborate closely with support teams to reduce GP call volume and instill a metrics-driven mentality in the team.
  • Interact with quality assurance teams to drive high levels of automation in GlobalProtect software.
  • Introduce processes and discipline in the engineering team to deliver high-quality software.
  • Communicate effectively with executive audiences.
  • Mentor and coach team members.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in software development.
  • 10+ years of experience leading a team of at least 8 people.
  • Experience delivering brand-new and inherited legacy software to millions of endpoints.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming language.
  • Proficiency in systems programming on Windows or Mac; Linux is a plus.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages like Swift, Objective-C, Go is a plus.
  • Experience with networking domain is a plus.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude to tackle difficult problems.
  • High energy and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enjoy collaboration and communication with multiple teams.
  • Fast learner eager to absorb new emerging technologies.
  • M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent military experience.

  • Experience with cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity products and services.
