About the position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is looking for an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow. GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 60 years of expertise, GD-OTS designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
  • Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
  • Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering & 5-7 years relevant experience.
  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering related degree & 5-7 years relevant experience required.
