The Event Technology Operations (Event Tech Ops) team at Amazon Business is looking for a highly motivated Senior Marketing Ops Manager, Event Tech to lead and execute technical event support for major marketing events. This role is responsible for end-to-end event technology operations, including event platform management, process optimization, vendor management, and product enablement, ensuring seamless execution of high-visibility events. This position will collaborate with marketing, tech, sales, and external vendors to deploy event technology solutions, support live and virtual event experiences, and drive efficiencies across the global event portfolio. The ideal candidate has experience managing multiple event platforms, leading cross-functional initiatives, and improving operational workflows for large-scale events.

Responsibilities

  • Own, manage, and scale event technology operations, optimizing platform deployment, process efficiencies, and vendor solutions across the global event portfolio.
  • Support multiple event platforms (registration, virtual, lead retrieval, audience engagement), collaborating with vendors to evaluate, procure, and integrate solutions that align with event needs.
  • Lead training and enablement programs, developing documentation, playbooks, and self-service guides to equip internal teams and stakeholders with event technology best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, tech, and sales teams to support product testing, live demos, and event activations.
  • Drive process improvements, ensuring event technology strategies align with compliance standards (GDPR, data governance) and vendor contract requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership
  • 6+ years of experience in event technology, marketing technology, marketing operations, technical event production, or technical program management in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Experience supporting multiple event platforms (registration, virtual event platforms, streaming tools, lead capture, or audience engagement tools).
  • Experience integrating event technology platforms with enterprise systems, including CRM (Salesforce, Marketo), registration platforms (Cvent, RainFocus), lead retrieval solutions, and analytics tools.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Airtable) with a strong understanding of roadmap planning, sprint execution, and backlog prioritization.
  • Proven track record of managing vendor contracts, product governance, and ensuring compliance with data security and GDPR regulations.
  • Experience in developing training resources and enablement programs to support internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing technical execution with cross-team collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international) to support events in person.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technical documentation.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of API-based integrations to enable data flow between registration, attendee engagement, and reporting systems.
  • Expertise in planning, testing, and deploying event-specific network solutions, including ad-hoc LAN/WiFi connectivity, bandwidth optimization for large audiences, VPN configurations, hardware security protocols, and onsite troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience with event-specific networking and hardware solutions, including RFID, lead retrieval, badge scanning, real-time event analytics infrastructure, badging systems, scanners, and networking equipment.

Benefits

  • Base pay ranges from $112,800/year in the lowest geographic market up to $186,500/year in the highest geographic market.
