About the position

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Mechanical Engineer/Designer to join our team, with a focus on site, building systems, and infrastructure design. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, recreational, and municipal projects. This role involves not only technical expertise but also leadership and project management skills, as the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and directing the daily activities of the Mechanical Engineering Department. In this position, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities that encompass project planning, design, management, and inspection phases. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality. Your project management duties will include managing client relations, developing project schedules, and overseeing budget and contract administration. Additionally, you will be instrumental in developing the project workload for the Mechanical Engineering Department, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct daily activities of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
  • Engage in project planning, design, management, and inspection phase duties.

  • Participate in developing project workload for the Mechanical Engineering Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design.
  • Experience in site, building systems, and/or infrastructure design.

Nice-to-haves

  • AutoCAD and/or Revit experience is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) is preferred.
