About the position

Freshway Foods is a production facility in Sidney, OH, offering customized retail and foodservice solutions across 27 states in the eastern half of the United States. The role focuses on driving sales growth, item/category penetration, and profitability by managing relationships with National Accounts and wholesale produce distributors. This position is virtual/remote with travel, allowing work from a home office while requiring periodic travel to customers, industry events, and key meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national and regional wholesale distributors to drive sales of fresh-cut produce.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments (R D, QA, Accounting, Customer Service, Purchasing, Logistics, Operations) and customers to ensure seamless service and added value.
  • Work closely with end-users R D, QA, and Purchasing teams to identify opportunities for innovation, quality improvements, and cost efficiencies.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of management, from customer service representatives to C-suite executives.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to develop strategic sales initiatives.
  • Conduct business reviews, prepare sales presentations, and analyze data using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Manage contact negotiations, pricing strategies, and service agreements in alignment with company objectives.
  • Comply with food safety practices and all applicable requirements as they pertain to SQF.
  • Support company-driven food safety improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales experience required (produce, foodservice industry or related preferred).
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
