About the position

The Sr. Marketing Manager for Events at AWS WWPS EDU/SLG Field Marketing is responsible for executing demand generation events hosted by AWS and third-party organizations. This role involves strategizing and managing large-scale in-person events, such as re:Invent and AWS Summit, specifically targeting education, state and local government, and technology sectors. The successful candidate will oversee event strategy, execution, and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance customer experience and elevate the AWS brand.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, managing, and executing end-to-end plans for in-person events, both AWS-hosted and third-party.
  • Defining program goals, managing budgets and timelines, and developing demand generation strategies.
  • Overseeing vendor and venue partnerships to ensure high-quality customer experiences.
  • Providing detailed ROI reports on events and activities associated with executed programs.
  • Collaborating across stakeholder groups on event briefs, plans, and post-event debriefs.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Tableau for data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables.
  • Experience in building, executing, and scaling cross-functional marketing programs.
  • Experience in developing and executing campaigns across multiple time zones and languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners.
  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with a global footprint.
