About the position

The Sr. Marketing Manager for Events at AWS WWPS EDU/SLG Field Marketing is responsible for executing demand generation events hosted by AWS and third-party organizations. This role involves creating the vision and managing the involvement of the EDU, SLG, and XTech field marketing teams in large-scale AWS-hosted events, as well as overseeing event strategy and execution for regional events targeting specific customer segments. The position requires strong organizational and analytical skills, the ability to influence stakeholders, and effective collaboration across various teams to ensure successful event outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, managing, and executing end-to-end plans for in-person events, both AWS-hosted and third-party.
  • Defining goals for each program, managing budgets and timelines, and developing demand generation strategies.
  • Outlining roles and responsibilities across stakeholders and overseeing vendors and venue partners to ensure high-quality customer experiences.
  • Providing detailed ROI reports on events and activities associated with executed programs.
  • Collaborating across stakeholder groups on event intake briefs, plans, and post-event debriefs.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience.
  • 7+ years of experience developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Tableau for data manipulation, including macros, charts, and pivot tables.
  • Experience building, executing, and scaling cross-functional marketing programs.
  • Experience developing and executing campaigns across multiple time zones and languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners.
  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with a global footprint.
