About the position

The Sr Personal Banker at Northern Trust is responsible for delivering exceptional client service while managing a full range of banking products and services. This role involves executing various administrative and operational activities related to client accounts, providing maintenance and holistic advice, and ensuring adherence to banking guidelines and policies. The banker will interact with clients through various channels, respond to inquiries, and maintain accurate records, all while identifying opportunities for cross-selling and enhancing client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional client service while managing banking products and services.
  • Execute client account servicing activities, including processing wires and fund transfers.
  • Proactively communicate with relationship management and NCSS teams to obtain necessary information.
  • Handle cash transactions and daily balancing activities in adherence to WM Lobby Banking Operations policies.
  • Assist with maintenance and servicing of Safe Deposit Boxes where available.
  • Demonstrate expertise in setting up client accounts and services, ensuring documentation completeness.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of policies and procedures, addressing requirements in a timely manner.
  • Keep informed of new products and services to assist in selling and expanding client relationships.
  • Monitor banking reports and assist with banking audits as directed by management.
  • Serve as a mentor to fellow Personal Bankers, providing guidance and direction.
  • Share expertise in the deposit area and train others as designated by management.

Requirements

  • Previous years of related banking experience required.
  • Knowledge of banking operations, products, and services acquired through related work experience.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations and banking guidelines, usually acquired through related work experience or formal training.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage conflicting priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to think critically and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
