About the position

At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a Sr. Principal Contract Administrator who will play a crucial role in managing contracts that are vital to our operations. This position is based in either McClellan or San Jose, California, and may offer a hybrid work schedule, including the option for a 9/80 workweek. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering, extending, negotiating, and terminating both standard and nonstandard contracts. This role requires a deep understanding of contract management processes and the ability to navigate complex contractual obligations while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The Sr. Principal Contract Administrator will conduct proposal preparation, engage in contract negotiations, and oversee contract administration activities. This includes maintaining customer contact to ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment. The role also involves examining estimates related to material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure their accuracy and completeness. Additionally, the administrator will prepare bids, process specifications, and compile and analyze data to maintain historical information relevant to contracts. A key aspect of this position is the creation, tracking, and submission of Wide-Area-Work-Flow (WAWF) documentation within the government PIEE system. The administrator will provide day-to-day contractual guidance and support to internal program teams and business management, ensuring that all contractual rights and obligations are met. This position is integral to the success of our projects and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Administers, extends, negotiates and terminates standard and nonstandard contracts.
  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities.
  • Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepares bids; processes specifications, progress, and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information.
  • Creates, tracks and submits Wide-Area-Work-Flow (WAWF) documentation in the government PIEE system.
  • Provides day-to-day contractual guidance and support to internal program teams and business management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience - OR - a Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical acumen in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR's.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and government contracting with experience with different contract types.
