About the position

As a Sr Product Designer at PayPal, you will play a crucial role in creating meaningful and cohesive payment experiences for customers and merchants globally. Your focus will be on user-centered design, ensuring that the financial products are secure and trustworthy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence product decisions, and mentor junior designers, all while contributing to PayPal's mission of democratizing financial services.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to execute and deliver PayPal's Checkout ecosystem using a customer-focused design process.
• Create high-quality deliverables based on product design goals and priorities, managing work to a broader schedule without prescriptive guidance.
• Leverage established product design techniques and contribute to the adaptation of PayPal product design tools and methodologies.
• Foster collaborative dynamics across disciplines and drive product design team delivery excellence.
• Contribute to planning and estimating work, participating in broader work stream coordination and expectation setting.
• Create interactive prototypes and contribute to the global design system.
• Mentor junior product design practitioners in best practices, process, and methodology.

Requirements

• At least 7+ years working in product design, with experience in fintech and/or digital commerce.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Design, Information Architecture, Human Factors, or equivalent project/portfolio experience.
• A portfolio showcasing design excellence and impactful business outcomes.
• Thorough understanding of product design methodology and lifecycle across significant channels and platforms.
• Experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights.
• Ability to manage product design responsibilities against defined milestones with little oversight.
• Knowledge of essential channels and platforms, including mobile, web, and native solution design.

Nice-to-haves

• General awareness of technology mediums (i.e., JavaScript, HTML/CSS) and their differences.
