About the position

The Senior Program Manager at Americold is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing large, complex programs within scheduled deadlines and budget constraints. This role involves coordinating resources, managing program phases according to PMO methodology, and overseeing other Program Managers. The Senior Program Manager will also engage in customer-facing meetings and ensure operational readiness for facility launches and conversions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute program work plans, revising as necessary to meet changing needs.
  • Plan and execute new business or facility launches, ensuring readiness across various workstreams.
  • Utilize project management tools to track progress and stability of launches.
  • Manage program review meetings to ensure progress and address issues promptly.
  • Communicate program progress to stakeholders and develop updates for external customers.
  • Support facility go-lives and ensure operational readiness to minimize downtime and accuracy issues.
  • Travel on short notice and for extended periods as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of Program Management experience with large, complex facility startups.
  • 5+ years of implementation and vendor management experience, particularly with automation vendors.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time to support programs.
  • Understanding of WMS layer vs. WCS/WES layer functionality.
  • Proven track record managing high priority capital investment and customer implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications including Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with distribution automation systems installation and commissioning.
  • Ability to work in a matrix-managed environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and business savvy.
  • Demonstrated results-based leadership style with strong influencing skills.
