Sr. Scrum Master

About the position

Join Centric Consulting as a Senior Scrum Master in a hybrid role based in St. Louis. In this position, you will facilitate the exchange of information within agile development teams, between teams, and throughout the organization. You will be responsible for facilitating all agile ceremonies, creating supporting artifacts, and coaching the organization on continuous improvement through the use of agile principles and values. Utilizing metrics, coaching techniques, transparency, experimentation, and servant leadership, you will guide the continual delivery of business and customer value. You will partner with the product team to apply agile practices to achieve business value in each sprint, assist the Product Owner in managing the backlog, and manage team agile processes to ensure effectiveness and predictability. Additionally, you will coach the Delivery Team(s) in agile methodologies, provide metrics to improve team performance, remove impediments, and protect the Delivery Team(s) from outside influence.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the exchange of information within agile development teams and throughout the organization.
• Facilitate all agile ceremonies and create supporting artifacts.
• Coach the organization on continuous improvement through agile principles and values.
• Guide the continual delivery of business and customer value using metrics and coaching techniques.
• Partner with the product team to apply agile practices in each sprint.
• Assist the Product Owner in managing the backlog.
• Manage team agile processes for effectiveness and predictability.
• Coach Delivery Team(s) in agile methodologies.
• Provide metrics such as team velocity and throughput to improve performance.
• Remove impediments for the Delivery Team(s).
• Escalate issues and risks identified by the Delivery Team to the Product Owner and Project Manager.
• Protect the Delivery Team(s) from outside influence.
• Monitor and ensure team workflows and processes are followed.
• Work with Delivery Team(s) to create team agreements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience, or Associate's degree and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience, or High school diploma and a minimum of 9 years of related work experience.
• Agile certification(s) (CSM, PSM I/II preferred).
• Experience with Agile Methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/Scaled solutions).
• Agile tooling experience (Azure DevOps (TFS), Jira, Confluence, etc.).
• Ability to work within/develop an agile work environment utilizing Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to teach agile concepts and apply practices in a context-sensitive manner.
• Highly collaborative with ability to work cohesively across the organization.
• Servant leadership, self-management, and taking ownership and accountability.
• Provide effective, timely feedback through open and transparent communication.
• Experience working in hybrid environments with varying levels of maturity in agile practices.
• Local to the St. Louis area.
