About the position

The Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test at Medtronic, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN is responsible for designing and building frameworks to test and deploy complex software systems. This role involves developing technologies across iOS and Android, paired with continuous build and test using various system tools. The engineer will design, implement, and optimize automation tools to verify the mobile and server product suite, coordinating with software and test groups to ensure the system functions properly from end-to-end, both pre- and post-release. The position requires the utilization of automation tools including Appium, and the design and development of automation frameworks using Junit, Hybrid, or Data Driven approaches. Coding in Java, Python, or Swift is necessary to develop automation frameworks that work with mobile applications and API architecture. The engineer will also utilize Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and Build Integration tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo, create and implement test scripts for performance testing using JMeter, and design functional testing of end-to-end flows involving mobile apps and API services. Additionally, the role involves working on an Internet of Things platform to develop and drive end-to-end validation using skills including SQL/MySQL, REST, and SOAP UI. Multiple positions are available, and the position is open to telecommuting from anywhere in the United States.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field and five (5) years' experience as a software engineer in test; OR Master's Degree or foreign equivalent and two (2) years' experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in Appium, Junit, Hybrid, and Data Driven.
• Experience in developing automation frameworks for mobile applications and API architecture using Java, Python, or Swift.
• Experience with Jenkins or Bamboo.
• Experience in creating and implementing test scripts for performance testing using JMeter.
• Experience in functional testing of end-to-end flows involving mobile and API services.
• Experience in end-to-end validation using SQL/MySQL, REST, and SOAP UI.
