About The Position

The AWS High Performance Computing (HPC) team is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE) to lead a core area of a new HPC service. This role involves building offerings that enable customers to plan, schedule, and execute HPC workloads across AWS compute services. The position requires collaboration with various AWS teams in a fast-paced agile environment, focusing on engineering systems on a global scale and influencing AWS services. As a senior SDE, the candidate will define architectures for complex projects, lead the design and implementation of critical components, and drive software best practices to enhance software quality and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities
