About the position

The Senior Specialist, Consulting role at S&P Global is a pivotal position within the Global Intelligence and Analytics (GIA) consulting team. This team is dedicated to providing clients with a comprehensive understanding of the geographies, sectors, and environments that influence their operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and enhancement of complex economic models, focusing on time series analysis, econometric modeling, and scenario forecasting. This role is essential for delivering critical insights to a diverse client base, which includes industries such as industrial/manufacturing, energy and mining, government, trade associations, and technology. As a Senior Economic Analyst, you will apply rigorous quantitative methods to translate data into actionable, strategic solutions for clients. You will collaborate with experienced consultants and economists to innovate modeling techniques and contribute to projects that shape clients' growth strategies and assess risks. Your responsibilities will include leading advanced econometric techniques, designing quantitative models to assess economic impacts, synthesizing large datasets, and developing dashboards and data visualization tools. You will also play a key role in business development by identifying new opportunities and supporting proposal writing. This position requires a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline, along with 4-6 years of experience in economic analysis or consulting. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and a self-motivated, results-oriented approach. The role offers a competitive salary range of $80,109.00 to $140,477.25, along with an annual incentive bonus and additional benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and enhancement of complex economic models focusing on time series analysis and econometric modeling.
  • Design and implement quantitative models to assess macroeconomic and microeconomic impacts across industries.
  • Synthesize and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to produce accurate market segmentation and actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain advanced dashboards and data visualization tools using platforms like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytical reports and comprehensive market analyses.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities and supporting proposal writing.

Requirements

  • Expertise in econometric techniques, particularly time series analysis and economic modeling.
  • High proficiency in EViews and R or Stata for developing complex econometric models.
  • Experience in managing and analyzing large datasets using economic and financial databases.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline (PhD preferred).
  • 4-6 years of experience in economic analysis or consulting, applying advanced quantitative methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced econometric techniques like Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) and Cointegration analysis.
  • Familiarity with economic modeling frameworks such as Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models.
  • Proficiency in machine learning techniques for econometric modeling.
