About the position
The Senior Specialty Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for overseeing and participating in the purchase, installation, and implementation of LAN/WAN systems, firewalls/IPS, and enterprise wireless networks. This role requires extensive hands-on knowledge in various networking protocols and technologies, ensuring adherence to standard design methodologies and best practices. The engineer will also provide leadership and training to junior engineers and manage technical network design projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in the purchase, installation, and implementation of LAN/WAN systems, firewalls/IPS, and enterprise wireless networks.
- Perform detailed problem analysis and troubleshooting, leading collaborative efforts to solve network issues.
- Provide work leadership and training to junior network engineers.
- Manage technical network design and implementation projects.
- Ensure adherence to standard design methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in network design, operation support, and hands-on implementation of routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs/Spanning-Tree, VoIP, QoS, data center infrastructure, cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure), and security/encryption technologies.
- Familiarity with multiple vendor portfolios including Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and VMWare.
- Certification or willingness to obtain CCNP or CCDP; CCIE is a plus.
