The SQL Server BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and deploying Business Intelligence (BI) solutions built using the SQL Server BI stack. This role is crucial in managing customer-facing issues and incidents within their assigned areas. The SQL Server BI Developer works under the guidance of the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst and collaborates with business analysts and customers to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure the successful delivery of BI solutions. In terms of time allocation, the role involves 50%-60% of BI solution development and maintenance, 15%-20% customer support, 10%-15% requirements gathering and project management, 5%-10% server management and configuration, and 10% testing, debugging, and documentation. The SQL Server BI Developer enhances ARGO's product and service offerings by delivering actionable insights through advanced Business Intelligence solutions. Developing reports with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and streamlining data integration with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) ensures clients receive timely, accurate information. By optimizing T-SQL queries, the role improves performance and reliability, contributing to ARGO's commitment to high-quality, data-driven products and services, and maintaining its competitive edge. The SQL Server BI Developer is expected to design and manage BI infrastructure, including development, documentation, and unit testing of BI assets across ARGO's business lines. They will create, debug, customize, and evaluate SSRS reports, Integration Services Packages, and SQL Server databases. The role requires interaction with external customers and senior company management to address reporting needs and issues, as well as building, maintaining, and debugging reporting infrastructure for various business applications. Regular status reports on assigned tasks will be provided to the Data Architect and Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, and the developer will assist QA in creating and validating reporting artifacts and deliverables. Additionally, they will research and resolve code defects of varying complexity and design, build, and test complex SSIS data transformation packages.
