The Sr. Staff Accountant - Business Intelligence Support (BIS) role at Duraflame, Inc. is crucial for maintaining the company's financial health and supporting strategic initiatives. This position combines traditional accounting responsibilities with analytical business intelligence functions, working closely with senior leadership to provide insights into financial variances, ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, and enhance financial reporting for informed decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Perform monthly budget actuals and analyses, summarizing results for non-financial stakeholders.
• Research and explain cost accounting Purchase Price Variances.
• Perform assigned month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed by Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Active CMA, CGMA, or CPA license.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting or auditing manufacturing firms.
• Genuine enthusiasm in applied economics.
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial statements, and variance analysis.
• Experience with cost accounting, using the standard cost method.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and Pivot Tables.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (Outlook, Word, & PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Collaborative with an initiative-taking, growth mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
